KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – ProMotion LLC today announced its newest ProMotion LIVE! Session, featuring indie/alternative act Starting September. Filmed at ProMotion’s Knoxville studio, the session includes performances of original songs "Trials", "Blue", "Matter of Time", and a cover of the Dolly Parton classic "Jolene".

Starting September is led by singer-songwriter Hollis Rivenbark, who performs both as a solo artist and with a full band under the name. The songs are intimate and emotionally direct, with a dramatic streak. Imagine Florence and The Machine or Tori Amos taking on a set of unreleased Elliott Smith songs.

For this session, Rivenbark performed solo with acoustic guitar. The ProMotion LIVE! Session series records artists in a single setting, with no studio polish or overdubs, so the songs have to stand on their own.

“Hollis writes the kind of songs that quiet a room,” said James Gilley, owner of ProMotion LLC. “This session lets you hear that without anything in the way.”
